Bronx man Jose Ortiz charged with murder and manslaughter in deadly double stabbing
NEW YORK -- Police have made an arrest after a deadly stabbing in the Bronx.
A man was stabbed in the chest and a woman was stabbed in the arm Friday night inside a building on University Avenue in the Highbridge section.
Police say 65-year-old Jose Ortiz got into an argument with his neighbor over a noise complaint and stabbed her in the arm.
A friend who was visiting the neighbor at the time tried to intervene. That's when Ortiz allegedly stabbed him in the chest.
The two victims were taken to Lincoln hospital, where the friend, identified as 45-year-old Tyrone Quick, was pronounced dead. The woman was in stable condition.
Ortiz was arrested and faces numerous charges, including murder and attempted murder.
