Cops: Men Beat Driver, Threatened Him With Gun In Bronx Livery Cab Robbery

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for two men who beat up and robbed a livery cab driver in the Bronx on Friday.

The men were riding in a livery cab shortly before 2 a.m. on Friday, when one of them punched the 73-year-old driver in the head and placed him in a chokehold, while claiming to have a gun, according to police.

The second suspect removed an undetermined amount of money from the center console before the pair fled the scene at Obrien Ave and White Plains Road, police said.

The driver was taken to Jacobi Hospital where he was treated and released.
