Bronx Man Arrested In Connection With Citywide Grand Larceny Spree

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Bronx man has been arrested in connection with a series of grand larcenies in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.

A neighbor told 1010 WINS' Holli Haerr that she didn't know Gilroy Pacheco, 23, but police were looking for him and had shown his picture around the neighborhood.

"They said he stealing from people, a check and fraud," the woman said.

Police also put out a Crime Stoppers alert and said a tip has led to Pacheco's arrest in the grand larcenies that took place between January 2014 and May 2015.

Authorities said he was stealing mail from mail boxes, removing names from money orders and cashing them in his and other people's names.

Records show he was also arrested in March for possession of a forged instrument, a stolen money order.
