NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was critically injured following a hit-and-run crash in the Morrisania section of the Bronx Wednesday afternoon.

CBS2's Scott Rapoport reported the hit-and-run took place around 4 p.m. at 165th Street and Union Avenue.

Police said a gray car struck a man in the middle of the street and then crashed into a truck in front of it. Witnesses say two men jumped out of the car and ran from the scene.

"The car hit the guy who was running across the street," a witness said. "So the car hit like that – boom. The guy went flying."

Police said the man was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
