Police: Man Punched Woman During Quarrel At Bronx Grocery Store

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were searching for a suspect who punched a woman during a quarrel at a Bronx grocery store.

The man got into a quarrel with the 45-year-old woman, who did not know him, around 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 inside the Pioneer Supermarket, at 2400 Ryer Ave. in the Fordham section of the Bronx, police said.

The suspect punched the woman in the face, causing a laceration to her forehead, police said. He then ran off.

The woman was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was treated and released, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 30 and 45, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a muscular build. He was wearing a black T-shirt, dark jeans, and shiny sneakers.

Police have released surveillance video of the suspect.
