Truck Driver Took Off After Fatally Hitting Pedestrian In The Bronx, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A man was struck and killed by a truck early Tuesday in the Bronx, and police say the driver took off.

It happened shortly after 5:05 a.m. on the Bruckner Boulevard Service Road near Country Club Road.

Police said it appears the man parked his vehicle on the side of the service road and was attempted to cross when he was hit by a truck, possibly a dump truck with a blue container.

The victim's name has not been released.
