NYPD: Man Takes $600 From Woman In Elevator, Flees

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is searching for an unidentified suspect in connection to a robbery which occurred in a building in the Bronx on Sunday night.

On Nov. 15, a 51-year-old woman was approached in the elevator of a building on Webster Avenue and Eisenhower Street, according to police. The suspect verbally threatened the woman, before taking off with her purse and approximately $600, according to the NYPD.

The incident occurred at around 8:15 p.m.

The suspect was described as around 6 feet tall, with light colored eyes and was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers, according to police. An image of the suspect was captured using surveillance footage.

The victim was not injured, police said.

The NYPD is asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
