According to police, the teenage employee asked McCoy and Bonds to comply with the park's face mask policy.
Later that day when the couple saw the employee again, police say they both hit him in the face, knocking him to the ground. Another Sesame Place employee tried to stop the incident and was also attacked, according to police.
Investigators tracked the suspects down through reservation records and surveillance videos.
Police say McCoy tried - unsuccessfully - to barricade himself in his Bronx apartment when U.S. Marshals showed up to arrest him Wednesday morning. He was taken into custody.
Bonds is expected to turn herself in, according to police.
The teenage victim was hospitalized for a week after the attack, police said. He required surgery due to having a fractured jaw and injuries to his teeth.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help pay for the victim's medical bills.
