The victims are all being treated at Lincoln Medical Center, CBS2 reported. They are all expected to recover.

It is unclear what sparked the shooting, but a nearby resident said it could have been the weather.

"Heat brings problems out when it's several continuous days of hot weather," the resident, named Charles, said.

The incident marked the end of violent weekend that saw five fatal shootings in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Staten Island.

The NYPD has been trying to reduce violent crime with its "Summer All Out" program, which puts more police officers on patrol in troubled neighborhoods.
