Police: Suspect Arrested In Anti-Gay Bias Attack In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One of two suspects who was wanted in connection with an apparent anti-gay bias attack in the Bronx has been arrested, police said Tuesday.

Kareem Ruddock, 25, is charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to police.

The incident happened around 3:30 a.m on July 10 near Sunset Boulevard and Neptune Lane.

Two suspects yelled anti-gay slurs at the 49-year-old victim before one of them stabbed the man in the arm with a sharp object, police said. The suspects then fled.

The victim told various media that this was the second time he has been knifed for being gay.

He was taken to Montefiore Westchester Square Campus in stable condition.
