Bridgewater Police Release Sketch Of Suspect In Assault Case

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in New Jersey have released a sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with an assault in Bridgewater last week.

A woman told police she was sitting on the back porch of her North Mountain Avenue home around 10 p.m. last Wednesday when a man confronted her and began beating her with a blunt force object, officials said.

The woman managed to escape by running inside the residence, officials said. She was later treated for cuts and bruises at a hospital and released.

Law enforcement officials searched for the suspect, but could not find him.
