One Person Dead In Abandoned House Fire In Brentwood

BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- One person was killed in an early morning fire inside an abandoned house Tuesday in Brentwood.

The blaze broke out just before 4 a.m. at a home on 8th Street. Several fire departments responded to the scene, including crews from Brentwood, Deer Park, Bay Shore, East Islip, Islip and Commack.

Police said the person was found dead inside the home after firefighters extinguished the flames. There was no one else inside the house.

The medical examiner will determine the victim's identity.

The investigation is ongoing.
