NYPD: 13-Year-Old Boy Robbed At Washington Heights Subway Station

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD is searching for two teens who robbed a 13-year-old boy in a Manhattan subway station.

According to police, the suspects approached the 13-year-old boy while he was standing at the southbound 1 train platform at Broadway and 157th Street in Washington Heights at around 4 p.m. on April 12.

After approaching the boy, the suspects forcibly took the victim's cell phone from his back pocket before leaving the scene, police said.

The NYPD describes the suspects as between 16 and 17 years old. Surveillance video of the suspects leaving the train station can be viewed above.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
