Boy, 6, Run Over By Halloween Parade Float In Point Pleasant, New Jersey

POINT PLEASANT, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a 6-year-old boy was injured when a float ran over him during a Halloween parade staged in a Jersey shore town.

Point Pleasant police say the boy was walking along the parade route with his mother when he was struck by a wheel from a utility trailer being used as a float during the parade on Sunday.

The child was taken to a hospital. But further details on his injuries and his condition were not disclosed.

Authorities say the accident remains under investigation.
