Man Charged In Hit-And-Run That Left Boy, 6, Injured In Borough Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect surrendered to police Wednesday in a hit-and-run that left a 6-year-old boy seriously injured in Borough Park, Brooklyn.

Armando Mino of Brooklyn was charged with felony assault and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.

Around 4:15 Wednesday, Aug. 24, a dark minivan that plowed into a to the boy at 41st Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway in Brooklyn.

The incident was caught on surveillance video.

The driver then drove away. The video showed the boy's father quickly scooping him up, and the driver getting out of the minivan and then getting back in -- and taking off.

The boy was rushed to Maimonides Medical Center where he was reported in serious but stable condition with a hip injury, 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck reported.

The boy's most serious injury was to his hip.
