Boomer & Carton: Yanks Clinch, While Mets In Danger Of Losing Home Field

It may have taken a little longer than most fans liked, but the Yankees clinched a playoff berth Thursday night with a 4-1 win over the Red Sox.  The win not only clinched their 52nd postseason appearance, but it also marked the 10,000th victory in the franchise's storied history.

Boomer and Craig were all over the Bombers' accomplishment to start Friday's show.  The Yankees, of course, join their crosstown rivals in the postseason, as the NL East champion Mets prepare to take on the Dodgers in the NLDS starting Oct. 9.

Judging from recent play, including Thursday afternoon's 3-0 loss in Philadelphia, Craig believes the Mets as a franchise do not value the importance of gaining home-field advantage. Boomer was quick to distance himself from his partner's take.

Later, Boomer mocked Craig's miniature popcorn machine and we had a pretty good edition of Thursday Night Football that saw the Ravens beat the Steelers, 23-20 in overtime.
