This Wednesday edition of the Boomer & Carton Extravaganza got underway with a public service announcement of sorts, directed at those who own and run professional sports franchises.  Not to worry, though: You don't have to actually own or run a franchise to be entertained by today's open. You just need to enjoy being entertained.

The guys talked about the dangers of accepting a culture of losing and going to great lengths to keep the great financial investment --  the players -- healthy.  They suggested some more outside-the-box thinking, citing the way Chip Kelly is running things in Philadelphia with the Eagles.

We also heard about the Giants' media session, where they discussed their high expectations. Boomer briefly harkened back to his high-school days, Craig suggested the Mets trade David Wright, the Jets suspend Dimitri Patterson and the Booms was thoroughly entertained by the latest episode of HBO's "Hard Knocks"...
