Matt Harvey dazzled the Nationals on Thursday afternoon in Washington -- Bryce Harper specifically -- living up to, perhaps even exceeding, the high expectations inevitably attached to his long-anticipated return to the mound for the Mets.

Boomer and Craig were collectively beside themselves after their young ace came up well, aces, and you could hear it in their tone.  Boomer went as far to compare Harvey's work ethic to that of his former teammate and greatest Cincinnati Bengal of all-time, Anthony Munoz -- who also pitched for the USC Trojans back in the day, by the way.

As for the Mets' crosstown rival Yankees, they struggled against the Blue Jays and despite only playing three games (winning one), this is New York and panic has already started to set in.  On a positive note, three games into his own return, Alex Rodriguez went deep.

Speaking of panic, Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers took the ice last night for the first time since wrapping up the Presidents' Trophy and home ice throughout the playoffs, and the 'King' got a scare -- which immediately had the Booms looking for Cam Talbot.  It turned out Henrik was OK and with the postseason fast-approaching, all is well in the land of the Blueshirts.
