Jerry Recco couldn't help but smile when getting us all up to speed on the Mets' latest win, a 3-0 triumph that was highlighted by a lights-out performance from Jacob deGrom and a Yoenis Cespedes home run, his first long-ball as a Met.

As for the Yankees, they provided little reason to smile in losing their fifth in a row, a 2-1 setback in Cleveland.  The loss was a costly one for the Bombers because the Blue Jays were once again victorious, leapfrogging the Yanks in the AL East.
