If you listen to the radio program regularly -- and I know you do -- then you are aware of what Jerry Recco provides on a daily basis.

So a night after Alex Rodriguez hit a go-ahead grand slam in an 8-4 Yankees win, Jerry's lead story was rather obvious. Following the game, A-Rod had himself an interesting exchange with the one and only Suzyn Waldman in her "OK John" segment.  If that wasn't enough, Joe Girardi got all philosophical and we even got to hear some Paul Simon, who is a big fan of the show, by the way.

Moving right along to the Mets, they managed a 5-3 win down in Baltimore thanks in large part to another stellar performance courtesy of Jacob deGrom.  During the postgame media session, Mets manager Terry Collins could be heard struggling to speak, which isn't all that unusual.

Plus, the Jets are close to signing journeyman quarterback Matt Flynn -- physical pending -- and some more news and notes from around the NFL...
