Jerry's Monday morning update was littered with highlights of both the Yankees and Mets, after the baseball locals got it done on the diamond Sunday.

The Yanks were in Minnesota and left with a 7-2 win over the Twins, taking two of three for the series.  On Saturday, Alex Rodriguez, who turns 40 today, went deep not once, not twice, but three times at the Stadium.  Considering how well the Yankees are playing, Boomer and Craig wondered if they could even justify making a move prior to the trade deadline. (Something tells us they will.)

As for the Mets, they took two in a row from the Dodgers after losing the first two games of the four-game set.  On Sunday it was a 3-2 win in extra-innings, in a game that saw Jacob deGrom out-duel Zack Greinke (who had his scoreless inning streak ended at 45 2/3 innings) but get a no-decision for his effort.  Sandy Alderson made some moves by acquiring Kelly Johnson and Juan Uribe from the Braves and both acquisitions have already paid dividends.

Plus, Mike Trout and David Ortiz provided plenty of offense for their respective teams, the NFL has still not made a ruling on Tom Brady's appeal but will change the manner in which game balls are monitored...
