Mike Trout and his All-Star heroics got top billing in Jerry Recco's update, this after the Angels' slugger led off last night's exhibition with a line-drive home run, thus completing the career All-Star Game cycle at the ripe ol' age of 23.

The American League won the game 6-3, Trout took home the MVP honors, but it was Mets ace Jacob deGrom whose performance had Fox's Joe Buck hurling praise.  We heard Mark Teixeira talk about small-ball and the importance of home field advantage in the World Series, Red fire-baller Aroldis Chapman lights up the gun with 103-mph stuff and Pete Rose was honored in front of the loyal Cincinnati fans.

Plus, Jason Pierre-Paul's release from the hospital has Craig thinking about the once-feared pass rusher's first face-to-face meeting with Tom Coughlin and news and notes from both the NFL and the NBA...
