Jerry Recco certainly understands what is expected from him in his role as the Morning Show update maven, so after we heard John Sterling slap himself for the sake of the broadcast, Jerry kept the ball rolling by getting us all up to speed on what went down last night in Boston, where the Yankees fell to the Red Sox 5-1 in a game that was marred by Michael Pineda's  ejection due to a glob of pine-tar spotted on the pitcher's neck.

The Mets played some National League baseball at Citi Field and in doing so beat the Cardinals 3-2 to improve to 11-10.  Following the game Terry Collins offered some perspective or at least tried to, while Craig's fascination got the best of him.

Plus, Phil Jackson assures that James Dolan has been 'hands off' thus far and begins his negotiations with Carmelo Anthony, the Mavs beat the Spurs, Bobcats come up short against the Heat, LaMarcus Aldridge leads the Blazers over the Rockets again and an NHL scoreboard for those that care about such a thing...
