Boomer & Carton: Heartbreak For Isles, Revival In Brooklyn And A Couple Of Wins

Hockey fans and New Yorkers alike are not going to get their wish of seeing a Rangers-Islanders playoff matchup, after the Isles managed just 11 shots on goal and fell to the Capitals in Game 7 Monday night by a score of 2-1.  Boomer's beloved Rangers will now take on Alex Ovechkin and the Caps in Round 2.

So it was hockey that had Boomer and his little buddy Craig talking early on this Tuesday morning, but that wasn't all.  The Mets got a game-winning three-run home run off the bat of Daniel Murphy in the top of the ninth down in Florida - improving to 15-5 in the process - while the Yankees made easy work of the Rays in the Bronx, cruising to a 4-1 win. Alex Rodriguez did not hit home run No. 660.  Plenty to talk about there.
