With the update maven that is Jerry Recco parading down the East coast with his lovely family, the ever capable Harris Allen filled in admirably Thursday morning.

After Harris decided on bagels for his gift from the guys, it was update time and this effort began with the Mets, whose effort yielded no runs for the second straight game, losing to the Pirates in 11 innings by a score of 2-0.

The Yankees on the other hand bested the Angels out in Anaheim 3-1, behind another solid outing courtesy Nathan Eovaldi.

Plus, NBA free agency heating up while the Knicks remain dormant thus far, Glen Sather steps down as Rangers GM -- replaced by Jeff Gorton (not Gordon) -- Japan defeats England and will now face the U.S. in Sunday's championship match, finally the aforementioned Harris Allen has his rock-n-roll knowledge tested and is told in no uncertain terms that he does not look anything like Eric Clapton...
