Todd Bowles was asked about the uncertainty surrounding the Jets quarterback position and the rookie head coach didn't exactly give third-year signal caller Geno Smith a ringing endorsement.
Boomer and Craig revved things up Wednesday morning with some talk about the Jets, who - with all of their offseason moves - many believe are just a quarterback away from being a serious contender in the AFC. Currently the Jets have the aforementioned Smith, newly acquired Ryan Fitzpatrick and Phil Simms' son Matt on their roster. With that said, Craig asked Boomer if Gang Green should see to it that they get Marcus Mariota in the upcoming NFL Draft and the Blonde Bomber provided a well thought out reason why they probably should not.
Moving right along to the popular sport of baseball after Masahiro Tanaka expressed through a translator just how happy he is to be the Yankees' presumptive Opening Day starter, this on the heels of the Mets announcing a couple of days ago that Bartolo Colon would handle the same duties for the Amazin's in Washington.
Speaking of the Mets, Sandy Alderson admitted that the decision to start Colon over, say, Matt Harvey or Jacob deGrom could have been made with money in mind. How 'bout that?!
