It was quite a night in the world of sports to say the least.

The Rangers were unable to take care of business against the Flyers in Philly, setting up a winner-take-all Game 7 tonight at the Garden, and who doesn't love one of those.  Boomer will be there, but he made it crystal clear that he doesn't want his little buddy Craig anywhere near MSG when the puck drops.

The Yankees welcomed the Mariners and their prized free-agent acquisition Robinson Cano to the Bronx last night and then proceeded to lose 6-3, but not before Cano heard a chorus of boos from the presumably disgruntled Bombers faithful.  With the loss, the AL East leading Yanks dropped to 15-11.  Coincidentally, with their 6-1 win over the Phillies, the Mets improved to 15-11, good for second in the NL East.

Earlier in the day NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was lauded for handing down a lifetime ban to disgraced Clippers owner Donald Sterling, and giving him a $2.5 million fine and will seek to force him to sell the team.  The Clippers responded by dispatching the Warriors 113-103 to go up 3-2 in their best-of-7 series.
