Boomer and Craig got to talking about the manner in which the Mets have handled journeyman reliever Kyle Farnsworth, who they unceremoniously released yesterday to save a few bucks.

For those of you keeping score at home, this is not the first time the Mets have gone down this road with Farnsworth, having given him his walking papers during spring training, only to re-sign him.

The guys expressed sympathy for Farnsworth's plight before Boomer took us for a stroll down memory lane and provided some telling stories about the Cardinals and Bengals franchises with regards to their similar takes on cutting corners in order to try to save some money.

Included in Boomer's recollection was a story that occurred while he was in Cincinnati which he referred to as the 'Great Chicken Massacre'...
