The Mets managed to split their four game set with the Dodgers at Citi Field after getting wins both Saturday (15-2 in blowout fashion) and Sunday, which was a 3-2 extra-inning affair and saw them end Zack Greinke's scoreless inning streak at 45 2/3 innings.

In the meantime, the Yankees just keep rolling along, downing the Twins 7-2 in Minnesota and have won seven of nine since the All-Star break.

So Boomer and Craig were back at it in the Allstate Studio on Monday morning after a three-day weekend, and it was baseball that was on their minds, as the Mets remain in the thick of things -- trailing the Nationals by just two games in the NL East -- and Alex Rodriguez (who turns 40 today, by the way) continues to make us marvel as he leads the red-hot, first-place Bombers.

We are also still waiting on the NFL to come down with their decision on Tom Brady's appeal and Jon Niese opts to skip his kid's birth in favor of making his scheduled start, so there's that, too.
