BOOM: Seahawks Acquire Jimmy Graham From Saints In Blockbuster

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Seahawks aren't messing around.

Fresh off its second consecutive Super Bowl appearance, Seattle shook up the NFL just prior to the beginning of the free agency signing period on Tuesday, acquiring all-world tight end Jimmy Graham from the New Orleans Saints.

Seattle gave up two-time All-Pro center Max Unger and a first round pick this year for Graham and a fourth round pick this year, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer first reported.

Graham, a three-time Pro Bowler, signed a four-year, $40 million contract with the Saints last season.

The 6-foot-7, 265-pounder has been arguably the best at his position during his five years in the NFL, registering 386 receptions, 4,752 yards and 51 touchdowns, unreal statistics for a tight end.

Graham will be joining an offense in Seattle built to run first with bruising back Marshawn Lynch but eager to become more balanced. The Seahawks were expected to actively look for receiving help in free agency in the hope of putting more weapons at quarterback Russell Wilson's disposal, but now have a tight end who is as athletic -- and productive -- as a top receiver.
