Blind Man Hit By Train After Falling Onto Subway Tracks In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A blind man was struck by a subway train in Brooklyn late Wednesday afternoon, after he stepped off the platform and onto the tracks.

The man inadvertently stepped too far and fell onto the tracks at the Church Avenue subway stop in Kensington Brooklyn at 4:10 p.m., the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the FDNY EMS told 1010 WINS.

He was struck by an oncoming G Train, the MTA said.

The man survived and was taken to NYU Lutheran Medical Center in serious condition, the FDNY said.

Service on the line returned to normal at 4:47 p.m.
