Man Grabbed Woman, Took Items From Her Purse In Bleecker Street Subway Stop, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Sunday were searching for a suspect who grabbed a woman and stole items from her purse on the stairs to the Bleecker Street subway station.

The victim said at 2:27 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, the man came up to her on the stairs to the No. 6 Train station, at Bleecker and Lafayette streets in NoHo, and grabbed her by the arm, police said.

The man told the woman to give him a kiss, police said. The woman resisted and the man fled, police said.

The woman later found an unknown amount of cash and a MetroCard missing from her purse, police said.

Police have released photos of the suspect.
