Biden Tours Research Labs At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Vice President Joe Biden was at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center on Thursday as he is leading the Cancer Moonshot 2020 initiative.

WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported Biden toured the center's research labs. He's been to similar facilities and notes the data isn't shared.

"They're all doing the same thing and I find it curious," Biden said. "I don't know that's the only way it can be done. What happens if it's all aggregated in one place?"

Memorial Sloan Kettering president and CEO Craig Thompson said he has an answer.

"The problem with that is just what you said. We are facing a tsunami of new information being updated every day about that," Thompson said.

This is person for Biden as his son Beau died of brain cancer last year at the age of 46.
