Bergen County Executive Kathleen Donovan Proposes Property Tax Hike

HACKENSACK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Bergen County homeowners could be hit with higher taxes.

County Executive Kathleen Donovan is proposing a nearly 2-percent tax hike. For someone who owns a $324,000 home, that would mean an additional $6.50 in taxes this year.

The budget and any new taxes must be approved by the Bergen County Board of Freeholders.
