LISTEN: McAdoo Says Giants Can't Let Prescott, Elliott Get Comfortable

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The revamped Giants defense will face a quarterback and running back making their first NFL starts Sunday, but coach Ben McAdoo isn't taking the Cowboys' Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott lightly.

"Both of these guys are winners," McAdoo told WFAN's Mike Francesa on Thursday. "That's one of the things that you notice right away. They both won and won a lot of games at their colleges. So they're used to winning. So we need to make sure that we come out and we set the tone right away that way because we can't let them get comfortable early in the game. But they're two very talented players."

Prescott, a fourth-round pick out of Mississippi State, is starting in place of injured quarterback Tony Romo. Prescott had a strong preseason, completing 39 of 50 passes (78 percent) for 454 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions.

"Dak has won at a high level in college, and he looked very good in the preseason distributing the football," McAdoo said. "The protection was good for him, and (he) made some plays on the move, made some plays with his legs. A very talented player."

Dallas used the fourth overall pick in April on Elliott, a running back out of Ohio State.

"Ezekiel Elliott is a complete back," McAdoo said. "He has great hands out of the backfield. He runs with some power. He's not afraid to step up in pass protection. And he's used to playing in a bunch of space."
