5 Firefighters Injured, 3 Families Displaced In Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Five firefighters were injured in an overnight fire in Brooklyn, officials say.

The flames began in a building on Lafayette Avenue late Saturday night and spread to a second building, CBS2 reported. A third building has smoke and water damage.

One of the injured firefighters had serious, but non-life-threatening injures, officials said.

According to American Red Cross, three families were displaced following the fire.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
