Suffolk Police Arrest Suspect In Bay Shore Barbershop Shooting

BAY SHORE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting inside a Long Island barbershop that left the victim in critical condition.

According to Suffolk County police, James Nicholson, 32, was arrested Friday on charges he opened fire inside the Headfellas barbershop on Union Boulevard in Bay Shore Thursday.

The 30-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was shot twice in the stomach.

Nicholson, of Bay Shore, is due to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.

Nicholson faces a charge of first-degree assault. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
