Baby's Body Found At Recycling Center In Monmouth County, N.J.

FARMINGDALE BOROUGH, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- New Jersey State Police on Wednesday were seeking help from the public in finding the mother of a baby who was found dead at a recycling facility in Monmouth County.

The baby's body was found Tuesday afternoon by an employee moving trash at the ReCommunity Recycling Facility on Railroad Avenue in Farmingdale Borough, New Jersey, state police said in a news release.

State troopers from Hamilton Station were dispatched to the facility around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, state police said.

Police also found blood-stained clothing near the body, and detectives hoped someone would recognize the items of clothing to connect them to the mother.

Police have released images of two articles of clothing.

The infant was pronounced dead at 3:31 p.m. Tuesday. An autopsy was to be performed Wednesday at the Middlesex County Medical Examiner's office in North Brunswick, but results were not immediately available.
