Authorities: Daquan Mixson, 24, Suspected In Fatal Jersey City Shooting

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities are searching for the gunman who allegedly shot and killed a man near a Jersey City housing complex.

Hudson County prosecutors announced Sunday that a warrant has been issued for 24-year-old Daquan Mixson, who faces murder, aggravated assault and weapons charges in the slaying of 21-year-old Darius Dashawn Redmon. The Jersey City man was shot in the head late Friday night while he sat in a car in the area of the Booker T. Washington Housing Complex.

No other injuries were reported.

A motive for the shooting has not been determined.

Authorities say three men drove the wounded Redmon to a police department station, where officers performed CPR before he was taken to a hospital. But he was pronounced dead there on Saturday night.
