Much ado about nothing. A clearly agitated Ike Davis responded angrily this morning to a back-page New York Post story that claimed he concealed an oblique injury from Mets management and trainers last season because he was struggling offensively and did not want to come out of the lineup.
Davis addressed the media in general and the Post's Mike Puma, who authored the article, in the Mets' clubhouse on Monday morning, calling the story a fabrication.
Davis then summed up what happened during 2013 that made his season go haywire.
The first baseman was particularly upset about the insinuation that he was going out of his way to disguise or hide the injury for selfish reasons, saying that players play hurt all the time.
So, I suppose that probably means no more "exclusives."
