Mom's Live-In Boyfriend Arrested In Death Of Boy, 3, In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was arrested late Friday in connection to the death of his girlfriend's toddler in the Bronx.

The Medical Examiner's office says 3-year-old Messiah Allen died from multiple blunt force injuries.

Officers found the toddler unresponsive and with injuries to his face Thursday night at the Sotomayor Houses on Bruckner Boulevard.

Investigators say the mother's live-in boyfriend, 36-year-old Kenneth Lynch, was performing CPR on Messiah when police arrived.

Late Friday, police arrested Lynch and charged him with manslaughter in connection to the child's death.

The investigation is ongoing.
