NYPD: Suspect Made Anti-Gay Statements In Queens Slashing

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a man they say made anti-gay comments and slashed a man in the face earlier this week in Queens.

It happened around 3:10 a.m. Tuesday on 77th Street near 37th Road in Jackson Heights.

Police said the men were arguing when the suspect pulled out an unknown object and slashed the 34-year-old victim on the left cheek.

He allegedly made anti-gay statements before leaving the scene.

The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is now investigating.
