Search On For Man Who Left 2 Injured In Anti-Gay Attack In Chelsea

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Tuesday released a sketch of a suspect who yelled anti-gay slurs and left two men injured in an attack in Chelsea this past weekend.

Around 4:15 a.m. Sunday, the suspect yelled anti-gay slurs at the men at Eighth Avenue and 14th Street and then got into a physical fight with them, police said.

One of the victims, 32, suffered a fracture to his face, while the other, 28, injured his right hand, police said.

Both victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital Center in fair condition, police said.

The suspect fled north on Eighth Avenue. He was described as a white male between the ages of 21 and 30, standing about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 180 to 190 pounds.

The suspect was last seen wearing a gray baseball cap.
