Alumnus Found Dead In Restroom At Fordham University Lincoln Center Campus

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Fordham University was offering grief counseling Monday evening, after an alumnus was found dead in a restroom on the Lincoln Center campus.

The alumnus, whose name was not released Monday night, was found dead in a restroom at the Leon Lowenstein Center, 113 W. 60th St., in the early morning, Fordham University said in a statement.

Detectives from the 20th NYPD Precinct and the New York City Medical Examiner's office were investigating the incident Monday evening, but said they did not believe the alumnus was a victim of foul play.

The man was believed to be a resident of Manhattan, but it was not clear why he was visiting the Lincoln Center campus, the university said. The man's body was found by a student, who immediately reported it to campus authorities, the university said.

Staffers from the university offices of Campus Ministry and Counseling and Psychological Services have been in touch with the student.

The Counseling and Psychological Service office and the Campus Ministry office were also offering grief counseling for students, faculty and staff.
