Alaska Airlines Passenger Tries To Open Door Mid-Flight
MINNEAPOLIS (CBSNewYork) -- There was a major scare onboard an Alaska Airlines flight on Monday.
CBS Seattle affiliate KIRO-TV reported the plane had to make an emergency landing in Minneapolis after a passenger tried to open a rear-door mid-flight.
The Boeing 737 was heading to Seattle from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.
"We did receive reports that this passenger attempted to access a door at the rear of the aircraft," airline spokesperson Halley Knigge told KIRO. "The passenger was unsuccessful as it is physically impossible to open an aircraft door while the aircraft is pressurized and inflight."
Video posted to social media shows the passenger escorted off the flight by authorities.

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Police questioned the man and determined he presented a danger to himself. He was taken to Fairview Southdale Hospital, according to KIRO.
The flight resumed shortly after the passenger was taken off the plane.
