AirTrain Maintenance Scheduled At Newark, Kennedy Airports

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Maintenance could delay travelers who ride the AirTrain at Newark Liberty and Kennedy airports.

The Port Authority says the work will take place starting this weekend.

AirTrain Newark service will be suspended from 10 p.m. Saturday until 7 a.m. Sunday. Free shuttle buses will be available.

AirTrain JFK will operate every 16 minutes between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. from the Jamaica and Howard Beach stations. Service between terminals will operate every nine minutes. The pattern will continue until 6 a.m. May 22.

Port Authority officials are asking travelers using the AirTrain to allow for extra time.
