Cause of death was not immediately known.
The Texas native was drafted by the Yankees in the 8th round of the 2002 draft. He debuted on June 19, 2004. Twelve days later, Halsey got the start for the game made famous by Derek Jeter's dive into the stands against Boston.

Sad to hear passing of former Yankee P Brad Halsey, looked so young when he came up in 2004 Joe Torre joked he looked like his paper boy.
