ACC Sorry For Profanity-Laced Blunder In Media Guide

PINEHURST, N.C. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The Atlantic Coast Conference has apologized for a sentence with two expletives that appeared on a page in its football media guide.

Spokeswoman Amy Yakola said the league "appropriately updated" online versions to remove the all-caps sentence, "F--- THIS S---." The league pulled printed copies not already distributed at the ACC Kickoff media days.

It is unclear how the mistake occurred.

On Twitter, the reaction was predictable:

In March, the ACC men's basketball tournament program listed North Carolina State as "UNC State" — partly an abbreviation for rival North Carolina — throughout a stats page. The league said it was an editing mistake by its program provider using a computer's find-replace function.
