9-Year-Old Boy Hit By Car In Flatbush, Driver In Custody

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A 9-year-old boy is recovering after being struck by a car in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn just before 1 a.m.

Police say the boy was hit when he ran into the road at East 23rd Street and Avenue D.

The driver stayed at the scene and has been taken into police custody for driving while impaired.

The boy is in serious condition at Mainmonides Hospital but is expected to recover.
