9 People Shot In Six Locations In New York City On Sunday

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- There were a rash of shootings across New York City on Sunday.

1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported nine people were shot in six locations from Sunday afternoon until late at night.

The shootings began in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, where a 20-year-old who was playing basketball was shot three times.

In Brownsville, a 19-year-old was injured by gunfire.

Then an argument ended in gunfire in East Harlem which left one person wounded.

In Queens, three people were shot in Jamaica, followed by a double-shooting in Richmond Hills.

"Five, six, seven shots," one witness in the Richmond Hills shooting said.

All those victims are expected to survive.

However, a 25-year-old was critically wounded after getting shot in the head while sitting in a parked car in the Stapleton section of Staten Island.
